What a nice idea! You always have to have a story to convince people. It was like that with the introduction of money and why gossip is such important.
You can also check in the book of Yuval Noah Harari „A brief history of humankind“ how important gossip was for the development of human societies.
But this is just a technical implementation and you have to create real convincing content by yourself. I’m not sure if that is enough to convince people to buy into a story.
